The Prep year is a special year of induction for your child. Overnewton aims to provide an experience that nurtures your child’s self-esteem, allowing them to realise their full potential and to be caring members of the College community. Your child will be guided and supported in a positive environment to develop academically as well as socially and emotionally.
We invite parents interested in Prep enrolment for 2026 and beyond to register your interest by clicking on the 'Request Step into Prep Webinar' button below and we will send you a recording of our most recent webinar, recorded in May 2024.

Prep Transition Program
The Prep Transition Program at Overnewton includes four transition visits for pre-Prep students. These sessions provide students with the opportunity to become familiar with their new environment, build relationships with staff and meet their peers before the first day of school the following year. This program usually commences in mid-October of the year prior to commencement and runs for four sessions.
Transition Dates
Familes will receive notification of dates at the beginning of Term 4 in the year prior to commencement.
Assessment Week
Your child will be allocated an appointment for an assessment in the first week of school with their Home Group teacher. Please bring your child's required book list items with you at the time. Please do not name your child's pencils, glue sticks and other general stationary items.
